Aldabra Tortoise This tortoise inhabits Aldabra Island in the Indian Ocean. They live in grasslands and mangrove swamps and eat grasses, herbs, and woody plants. In captivity, they feed on great quantities of cabbage leaves and other greens.
Tortoises continue growing for at least forty years and it is uncertain how long they live. They wallow in mud to protect themselves against mosquitos.
These tortoises are about 80 years old and endangered. Respect all animals.
