Cynthia Brian, Host
Cynthia Brian is not your standard Hollywood star, but she does have
starstyle! Woman, wife, mother, actor, model, teacher, interior designer,
landscaper, artist, casting director, writer, published author, producer,
television host, world traveler, international speaker, furniture designer...
this lady is the Renaissance woman of the new millennium.
Born on a farm in Napa Valley in Northern California, the eldest of five
children, she raised chickens and sheep, drove the tractor and picked fruit to
earn enough money to pay her way through college. After being named The
Outstanding Teenager of California in 1969 and presented the trophy by then
governor Ronald Reagan, she was named teenage ambassador to Holland and was off
to study in the Netherlands for 18 months. While there, she served as a foreign
correspondent for several local newspapers earning enough money to travel
throughout Europe. Thus began her world travels that would teach her to speak
seven languages (so that she could communicate with people in their own
language), be an exchange student three times and travel to the far corners of
the globe. Her higher education was exercised at UCLA, Universite de Bordeaux in
France, and CAL Berkeley, where she received her Bachelors degree in History.
Cynthia's passion for traveling and people is matched by her passion for acting
which she has been doing professionally for over 28 years, working in films and
commercials with some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry. She
has hosted several television shows, is a frequent guest expert on both TV and
radio programs, and has been active in all phases of the acting world in
conjunction with her alliance with SAG (Screen Actors Guild) and AFTRA (American
Federation of Television and Radio Artists). Her radio popular radio show
showcased best selling authors and experts in personal growth, business, and
success. Together with Jerry Ackerman, she has completed her first screenplay, a
comedy adventure entitled "A Broad Abroad" chronicling the wild
adventures and mishaps encountered during the years she lived in Europe.
She has assisted in casting several feature films and print jobs and specializes
in the coaching of children for film and television. Her company, Starstyle®
Productions, LLC, helps promote self-esteem and confidence in children, teens
and adults via the medium of video. Cynthia offers private consultations on the
business, and her book , "The Business of Show Business", now in its
13th edition with a foreword by Richard Nelson Bolles, is extremely useful and
popular. As an acting consultant, she has guided several hosts for talk shows as
well as talent on established series, including producing and directing,
"The Green Grocer." Cynthia also works as a media coach, helping
authors, writers, and other professionals become camera ready and media savvy
with their promotional efforts.
Because of her artistry and creativity, Cynthia is also founder and president of
her own interior design firm, Starstyle® Interiors and Designs, where she draws
on her acting background to create beauty from the inside out. Many of her
design clients are also her acting clients. Her expertise in creating a loving
living environment where people are the stars of their own homes on any budget
is apparent. Her designs have been featured in several books, magazines and
newspapers. Cynthia is proud to be a member of ASID (American Society of
Interior Designers) and IDS (Interior Design Society), Allied Board of Trade as
well as a certified interior designer. As chairperson for the First Annual
Interior Design STARS Awards and Gala, Cynthia promoted excellence in the
achievement of others while writing, directing and producing the video "A
Quest for Pure Design".
Being the ultimate entrepreneur, she began designing furniture after searching
for years for the perfect game table. The handmade, heirloom quality Starstyle®
Gametable and Starstyle® Ottoman are now available at designer showrooms. Desks
and other pieces are all made to order.
Living in close communication with nature has given Cynthia a genuine
appreciation for nature and gardens. She produced an award winning calendar
"A Gardener's Calendar" with photos from her gardens and monthly tips
on how to make your garden grow. She is the co-author of the New York Times best
seller, "Chicken Soup for the Gardener’s Soul" and columnist of
"Gardening with Kids". Gardening consultations and landscaping
for beauty and enjoyment continue her work of "beauty from the inside
out."
It seems you can take the girl out of the country, but you can't take the
country out of the girl! Cynthia was the poultry leader, cat project leader and
gardening advisor for the Lamorinda 4-H club and is extremely active with her
two children, Justin and Heather, who seem to be following in mom's
entrepreneurial footsteps. She has assisted with Girl Scouting, is a lector at
her church, and played on a championship co-ed softball team. Cynthia is
happiest when she is working in her expansive gardens and orchards and spending
time with her children and menagerie of animals which include birds, chickens,
ducks, geese, goats, turkeys, rabbits, cats, dogs, and a pot belly pig. As
youngsters her children worked on numerous acting projects with their
Renaissance mom and her dentist husband still flaunts her friendly smile on his
business cards.
The goal of Cynthia Brian is to serve others and enhance quality of living by
recognizing that our differences are our greatest strengths. We must start from
the inside and work out knowing that nothing is impossible and that "sooner
or later, the person who wins is the one who thinks s/he can!" Her theory
is that we must be individuals, we must be willing to risk, and we must think
big. "Dream the dream, write the plan, go into action to get the skills
necessary to create your destiny and, most of all, believe in yourself and all
the possibilities," is Cynthia's recipe for success and happiness. It is
important to appreciate the little things in life so that we may create global
harmony and beauty one step at a time. "See the invisible and create the
impossible" is her creed. With this in mind, she produced, wrote and hosted
a motivational television series called Starstyle - Live Your Dreams about
passionate people who are doing what they love in life, despite the risks,
obstacles and naysayers. This series is an inspiration to all who doubt the
possibilities of living. She also created and hosted the national TV
series, The Business of Show Business to help aspiring thespians learn the ropes
of the entertainment industry while avoiding the scams.
As Founder and President of the 501(c)(3) charity, Be the Star You Are!™,
Cynthia works tirelessly to empower families and youth-at-risk through literacy
and positive media. She is a much in demand international speaker traversing the
globe with words of inspiration, tools for living, and hope. She has
authored four books, including "Be the Star You Are! 99 Gifts for Living,
Loving, Laughing, and Learning to Make a Difference" (Ten Speed Press),
"Chicken Soup for the Gardener’s Soul" (HCI), "The Business of
Show Business", and "Miracle Moments®." Her next
book is "The Positive Power of Parenting…Daddy’s Hands, Mommy’s
Heart, Children’s Memories". Several syndicated columns are penned
by Cynthia for newspapers, newsletters, magazines, and web sites around the
world, including "Business Bytes™" Be the Star You Are!"
and "Media Maven" and with her daughter, "Animal Cuts™",
and "Tea for Two, a Mother-Daughter Brew".
For a farm girl from Napa Valley, her hard work, energy, action, angelic
guidance and Jamias dit jamias (never say never) positive attitude, have
certainly added the sparkle to a starstyle life!
What's next? Stay tuned for more!
